3000 Easterners pledge to eat a local diet.

According to today’s Globe and Mail, several thousand Eastern Canadians have pledged to eat only foods from the four Atlantic provinces this Friday. The Eat Atlantic Challenge was organized by Co-op Atlantic, and is encouraging Maritimers to be strict with what they eat for the day. It sounds like it will be more challenging to source local foods for them than it is for us. I know my friends in St. John’s Newfoundland have a hard time growing anything in their garden!
